Darius' Reflection

WWII was a stressfull time for anyone in that time period, wether you or one of your family members were fighting on the front lines, or if you were in your homeland, devastated by economic depression and poverty. The emotions that WWII were overwhelming, but Angel Manrtin, a Puerto Rican who served as an Army Reserve in Puerto Rico in the 1940's, lived through the war and his stories and information just couldn't be passed by. He witnessed the fear and discomfort that people experienced in Puerto Rico and what war can do to an economy. He witnessed the true evil of humanity. I think this was a great project because it really makes you think about what some people had to live through. I think it is important that the stories of these people should be saved and appreciated. I never knew this person, many people did not, even though his experience in WWII is so interesting. It is a shame that so many people's stories have been lost, and I think that it is important that the remaining stories be saved and read and learned from.
